FILMING FOR FASHION
I had the incredible opportunity to be a drone operator for the fashion film by KA-WA-KEY, working alongside the renowned hairstylist Brendan O'Sullivan and his talented team. Together, we brought the brand's latest fashion pieces and innovative looks to life in stunning aerial shots. Through this experience, I gained a deeper understanding of the importance of time management, especially with such a large team of hair and makeup professionals involved. Coordinating seamlessly with everyone on set was essential to capturing the perfect moments while keeping the production on schedule.
DRONE VIDEOGRAPHY
I've been filming with my DJI Mavic Mini Drone, capturing breathtaking footage from exciting and unique angles that offer perspectives rarely seen before. From showcasing the intricate details of homes and restaurants to highlighting the dynamic energy of sports venues and fashion films, I love exploring architecture from above and offering a fresh view. The drone’s agility and high-quality imaging allow me to highlight the beauty and design of each space in a way that brings a whole new dimension to my work.
SOLAR PANELLING PROMOTION
I had the opportunity to collaborate with Chiltern Solar, a local solar panel company, by using my drone to capture stunning aerial footage for their video marketing materials. The drone allowed us to showcase their solar installations from unique perspectives, highlighting the scale and efficiency of the systems while giving potential customers an engaging view of how the panels integrate into residential and commercial properties. The high-quality aerial shots added a professional touch to their marketing campaign, effectively promoting their services to a wider audience.
LIVE MUSIC EVENTS
I used the Canon 5D to capture live performances at a gig in low lighting conditions, taking full advantage of its exceptional low-light capabilities and high ISO performance. With the wide aperture lenses, I was able to maintain sharp focus while allowing the ambient light to create atmospheric shots. To remain professional and discreet, I kept my movements minimal and used silent shooting mode to avoid distracting the performers and guests. The combination of technical precision and careful consideration of the environment allowed me to document the energy of the performance without disturbing the experience.
PROMOTIONAL FILMMAKING
I specialize in creating promotional videos for pubs and restaurants, helping them elevate their online presence through dynamic content for their websites and social media platforms. Over time, I’ve honed my skills to not only produce visually engaging footage but also communicate my ideas effectively with clients to ensure their vision is brought to life.
I've learned the importance of professionalism in the process, from pre-production to final edits, and now understand the key elements that make a promotional video stand out—especially the importance of a gimbal for smooth, steady shots that keep the viewer engaged. Each video is crafted to showcase the unique atmosphere of a venue while helping it gain traction and attract new customers online.
ANIMATION PROJECT
To create this short animation, I used Adobe After Effects and Photoshop, which allowed me to blend visual design and motion graphics seamlessly. In After Effects, I learned how to animate keyframes, apply effects, and manipulate layers to bring my ideas to life. Photoshop played a crucial role in creating and editing the individual assets, such as backgrounds and characters, that I later imported into After Effects. Through this project, I gained a valuable baseline understanding of both programs, learning key tools and techniques that will help me improve my skills in future animation work.
